Pull up a seat at the table — collage, creativity, and good company.
La Mesa de la Cocina is a season of 90-minute collage evenings about unlocking creativity — simple techniques for getting inspired, with collage as the tool. Some nights we make; some nights we gather for a guest talk or a poetry reading. Always around one warm table, with a drink and a small snack. It runs as a club: you buy a 4-visit card and come to the programmed evenings until your four visits are used. Reserve your seat online, cut and paste — or sit and listen — and let yourself get unstuck.
Why “the kitchen table”
The name is literal. My studio in Munich was once the kitchen of a villa built in 1895 — the room where the household gathered to cook, eat and talk. La Mesa de la Cocina keeps that spirit: a working table where people come together to make things and to talk, with something good to eat within reach.
How it works
- A 4-visit card — one evening at a time, across the season.
- 90 minutes each, with a drink and a small snack.
- Small groups — limited to 6 seats per evening, so book early.

- All materials provided, from my own collection.

Four Thursday evenings this autumn, 19:00, each exploring one way to unlock ideas through collage:
Thursday 8 October — Warm-Up & Play.
Quick, no-pressure exercises to quiet the inner critic and get the scissors moving.
Thursday 22 October — Chance & Constraints.
Randomness and limits — a timer, three materials, one colour — as an engine for unexpected ideas.
Thursday 5 November — Free Association.
Intuitive, automatic collage: following instinct instead of planning.
Thursday 19 November — Starting from a Word.
Found magazine text as a prompt to spark images.
Plus guest evenings — visiting artists and writers for talks, and poetry readings at the table.
