Letting Go, 2025–2026
Letting Go is a series about growing older and caring less about what other people think. We spend so much time running from our true selves, trying to fit in — measuring ourselves against expectations, bracing against every change. These works are about finally running free: trusting the gut instead of the plan, enjoying ourselves exactly as we are, letting things pass. Wild horses and cowgirls run through the collages as emblems of that freedom — untamed, unbothered, at home in their own skin. Cutting and layering paper becomes a way of putting things down — the pressure, the judgement, the need to control — and letting the pieces settle where they want to. Growing older, it turns out, is its own kind of freedom. What stays is lighter than what we carried in.
